What if I want to change the scale of appraisal questions?

In an earlier version of the software, it was possible to choose between a 2, 3, 5 or 10 point scale. It's a conscious decision to only allow a two point scale, because of the following reasons:

  • A binary scale forces the appraisal question to be very specific, and therefore it makes the apprasial more objective.
  • It is simpler for the trainee. Often, a question with a two point scale makes it easier to answer the question. You have either done something sufficiently, or not.
  • The benefits of allowing multiple scales do not outweigh the added complexity.
